Okay. So for light fixtures, there's two ways you can work with emergency fixtures. One way to designate a fixture as emergency is to specify it with a built in battery. And if your fixture has a battery in it, you will need to have a separate line item in your fixture schedule. So in my fixture schedule here, you see how a 24 e is gonna be specked with the battery, and then the model number is gonna be a little different.
So it's not the same as the normal lights. So, basically, what I'm saying is, like, this fix oops. This fixture here and this fixture down here are not the same. So it needs to be a type based feature. So when you click on this, you can see that in order to change the the emergency hatching, you'll have to go over here. Oops. You'll have to go over here to edit type and then uncheck the emergency button. And then when you when you do that, it takes away the hatching. And and then, of course, under under edit type, you'll have to change your type tag. So you would take out this e if you don't if you don't need to.
But let's say you want to make this, like, not a battery fixture. Let's say you just want to make this, like, a regular fixture but power it from an emergency panel or, like, a central lighting inverter, then you might want to change this emergency toggle to be an instance type so that you can just throw the hatching on without having to make a separate type. So, basically, what you do is so I I reset it back to what it was before. So, basically, what you do is you're gonna edit the family real quick. So click on this family.
Right click. Go to edit family. And then if you go up here to the family types, we're gonna take this emergency property and then click the edit parameter. Just change it from type to instance. And then when you do that, we hit okay. Click this okay. Load into project and close, and you don't need to save this family out. You could just let it live in your project. Overwrite the existing version. And then now if you click on this, you can see that this is actually a toggle toggleable, instance based parameter.
So now if you here. Example, I'm I'm gonna put this back, but I'm gonna change this type to the normal a two four. And if you if you click on here, you can see how I can kind of adjust that toggle separately now. So this becomes a instance based hatching to designate that it's fed from an emergency power source. And if you go into the lighting fixture schedule, there's only one a two four here now because it doesn't matter what type of power it's being fed from.
The fixture's all the same. So your EC is just gonna order this model with as many fixtures as the he or she counts on the floor plan. Alright? So that's how you change your emergency state of your light fixture to be either type or instance based. And like I said, it depends on how you design your light. If it's a battery, you might want it separate. If it's a if it's a inverter or generator to power it, then you want it instant space and just toggle this on or off. Obviously, you wanna match it with the circuit. So if I don't want this emergency, I have to recircuit this.
