Assigning Members and Permissions on an ACC Project

Okay. In this video, we are going to invite and add permissions to team members so that they can access the model as well. So fire up your browser and go to manage.autodesk.com/products. Go to the hubs tab and access your hub. So here we are in the account admin, and we wanna go to the projects.

So go to the projects tab over on the side and click on the project you want to invite your team members to. And when you go into the project, it defaults to the members tab. So we're going to add members, and, you need to know the email addresses of the team members you want to invite that are associated, of course, with their Revit licenses if that defers at all from, you know, the standard email that you use for them. And then you can just paste those emails in here. So I'm going to invite Ryan and John to my to this project.

And now these details, from first name to role don't matter. That's whatever you want to call it. And then access level and products, these are important. So, depending on the amount of rights you want them to have, they could be either project member or admin. Members also have, members have enough rights to access the models, so that's fine. For products, you need to check design collaboration and model coordination in addition to docs and insight, which will be automatically included. And you don't have to worry about unpurchased products. Okay. So I've got them assigned as members, and I've got the product selected. I'm going to send invitations.

And it typically takes just a couple minutes for a new invitees to populate on this list. Now you think you might be done, but you're not. There's one more step you have to do to get them access to the Revit models themselves. So we've just sent them invitations to the project. Here they are. And I can double check if they have access to design and model coordination, collaboration and coordination. So there's one more step we have to do. We need to go to the, docs. So I'm in my project. I'm in the docs portion of it.

Here's my model. I need to click the ellipsis here to the right of project files, and I need to go down to permission settings. And I need to add John and Ryan to the permission settings for the actual folders and files in this project. So I'm going to add John and Ryan, And I'm gonna set the permission level to, they need to have at least edit permissions in order to access the Revit model, be able to open it up, sync to central, all that sort of thing. Edit or manage, both will get them that.

Create, and on up is different levels. They won't be able to get into the Revit model. So add those guys to it. They've got the edit permissions. Okay.

So now they should be good to go. And this is all you have to do. Autodesk will have sent them an email inviting them to the project. And when they go into Revit and they go to Autodesk docs, assuming they're in the correct version of Revit, they should see both the project and they should be able to see the folder project files and the model. If they do see the project but they don't see the model file, that's possibly because you haven't set the permissions correctly here.

And if they don't see the model at all, that's because either, you know, you might have invited the wrong email or you might have they might be opening Revit in a different version of Revit. So double check those things. Alright. Now you are set to go. Your model is set up, linked models. You've got your friends who are now going to come and play with you in the Revit environment, and you are good to go. That's it.
