How to Link CAD Details into Revit

How to insert CAD drawings into your project:

1. Open the drafting view where you want your CAD content to live.

2. Insert Tab > Link CAD > Browse to your CAD File > Select "Black and White" > Okay.

3. If the CAD file has multiple sheet layouts in modelspace, use a masking region with <invisible lines> to mask out everything you don't want to see (draw two rectangles).

4. Drag the drafting view onto your sheet.

5. Adjust the scale of the drafting view if necessary.

If you have multiple sheets to generate from the same CAD link:

1. Duplicate With Detailing the drafting view.

2. Slide the inner border of the masking region to window the next set of content.

3. Drag and drop this new drafting view onto your next sheet.
