So this is a quick tour of the mechanical warehouse model, and we will do a deeper dive on it in subsequent videos. So you'll go to the location on your server where the Revit Mechanical Warehouse lives. So in my case, I'm working on a 2023 project, so I'm going to go into the 2023 version of the warehouse. And I'm gonna come in here. And since it is a central model, in this case, I'm going to create a new local and open it.

So really quickly, what we have here is we have a three d view and a floor plan. These are the only, views of the model. So the floor plan is the beating heart of the mechanical warehouse. We have all of the families laid out. There's only one level in this project, one floor plan, and they're all here.

You can see we have our air terminals, duct accessories. We've got VAV boxes, major air handling equipment, exhaust fans, and split system equipment, and heating equipment, and then hydronic equipment. And, also, you know, I should note that we're adding families to the warehouse all the time. So this video is probably gonna be out of date pretty soon after I make it. It'll be even more in the warehouse by the time you're you're viewing this.

But structurally speaking, everything should be about the same. So that is where all the families live, and we also have a space for your standard details, your mechanical details to have them all organized here. We don't supply specific details, but we have this template, and we have it organized so that you can use the details, bring in your own details. Legends are where we're gonna have things like, design conditions and general notes. Again, we're not supplying you with general notes.

We're just supplying a container for you to put your general notes in that looks good and consistent. All the schedules live in here in the schedules area, so that's gonna be, you know, your air device schedule and your boiler schedule and everything else. It's all in here. Although this will make sense in a second, but you typically don't go in here to find the schedules that you need. You go to sheets, which I'll show now.

So the sheet that is the sort of beating heart of the mechanical warehouse is this sheet. What's going on here is there's no title block, but it has this view. And this view is, of course, this floor plan right here. It's the same thing. So you can see all the families here.

And then off to the left in the sheet space are all of the relevant schedules. So here we have the split system or VRV VRF equipment. And then here we have the VRV split system equipment schedule. Here we have the gas and electric heaters, various types, and then all of the schedules for different heaters are over here. So it makes it quick and easy to find the schedule that corresponds to the equipment.

If could I come in here. I double click in this view to activate it, and you can see the schedule is kinda gray out. And then I can select, you know, the heating units that I need. I can copy them, literally just, control c, and then paste them into my project. Then I can right click, say, deactivate view, and I could grab the let's see. Gas radiant tube heaters. Gas radiant tube heaters. I could copy this. Again, just control c and paste, control v, into my project space to get that schedule and that equipment. So, this is, like I said, this is kind of the beating heart of the mechanical, warehouse.

Most of your time will be spent in the sheet view, grabbing what you need in terms of schedules and families. Now the, there's also some sheets set up, standard sheets. So you can do an insert, operation from your project to grab the sheet, all the views that are on the sheet, and just the way that they are arranged and pull that into your project. Same with schedules. So you might have a a schedule sheet that always looks a certain way and you like having it arranged that certain way.

You can set this up in the warehouse, and then in a new project, you pull it over so you don't have to set up those schedules and arrange those schedules and ignore and organize them on every project. It makes it quite quick. Same deal with the details. You just pull this whole sheet just as it is into, your project. And then where the families all actually live, down in the project browser, expand families.

So all the air terminals are here. So all these air terminals right here, these are all these families. And then the other categories are we have a few duct accessories. That's the dampers. So these dampers and the silencer and a few other families are in here.

And, then we have mechanical control devices. That's our t stat c o two sensors, that sort of thing right here. And then most of the rest of the equipment is under, of course, mechanical equipment category. So you've got your boilers and chillers and drain pans and exhaust fans and VAV boxes and everything else, is in here. So that is the real quick tour of the mechanical equipment model. Just to give you a quick orientation, we'll be doing a deeper dive in the future videos.
