ProjX View Filters

Okay. Now you may or may not want your sheets to look exactly the way we have these, so these are set up to be colorful and to have shading applied to them. That might not be how you want to show your sheets. You might want them to be just double lined with no shading, for example. So in this video I'm gonna show how you would change that.

So we're gonna get to learn a bit about view templates, visibility graphic settings, and how filters work. So just to make things simple, I'm gonna go to the mechanical floor plan o one view. And the shading is for these ducts is being applied using a filter. So if you go to visibility graphics, of course everything is grayed out because this view, the visibility graphics settings for this view are being controlled by the view template. So I'm gonna close that and I'm gonna go to the view template, click on M sheets.

Here I am, I'm in the view template management window. And I'm gonna select VG overrides filters. So I'm now controlling the settings for the filters for the view template in sheet, which is being applied to this view. And you can see here I've got filters for the various duct types, as well as equipment, and that is where these shading colors these color shadings are being applied. So there's two columns here which are of interest.

One is enable filter, one is visibility. So visibility is whether the the objects that this filter is filtering for are visible or not. So if I apply that, it will hide all of those. That's not what I want. If uncheck enable filter, it's essentially the same as just removing this filter from this tab, but it keeps it there so you don't have to keep going through and adding it and removing it if you're trying to just test the settings.

So I added it back and since I disabled the filter, it's no longer applying this colored fill pattern to everything. So if I didn't want any shading in my sheet plans, could just uncheck enable filter on all of these, hit apply, and now my plans are completely completely double lined. That's not actually what I want though. I actually like this this style, so I'm gonna keep those. And one way either way, if your sheets are shaded or if they're non shaded, I recommend keeping the colors, the colors of the lines, because if you even if you don't want to print in color, you can just choose to print in black lines in the print dialogue, and it is fine.

And so the colors are useful as you're working and tagging things to keep things straight. And then if you need to print black, can just tell it when you export to PDF to do it in black lines and that's fine. Alright, so that's a quick tour of the filters and how to change the shaded settings.
