ProjX Adding Sheet Notes

Okay. In this video, I'm gonna show how to put sheet notes on your project. And there's a lot of different ways of doing sheet notes. In this video, I'm just gonna show the most simplest method just using dumb text and a little symbol. It's my recommended if you're still getting the hang of Revit. The only thing I will say is I don't recommend using Revit's keynoting system where you're tagging elements with your keynotes. I don't think that's a good system. It's complicated. It's prone to error. If you've got a long practice of using it and you like it, fine, stick with it.

I'm not gonna tell you to stop doing it, but if you if if you want to know the way to do it, that's not my recommended way to do it. Okay. So in the template, in the Rev X template, we've got a x series sheet that says sheet notes options. So go to that, and you can see we've got a few different options here. And what we're gonna talk about today is the option three simple text notes. It is the most simplest. It's probably what you're used to with CAD. It's difficult to break. It's easy to keep track of. These other methods I have different videos for.

They have pros and cons, so we'll get into those later. But for this project, this is what we're doing. So all you have to do is box select the sheet notes box. Gonna come over to my sheet here, and I do not have this view activated. I'm just in the sheet space.

If I did have this view activated, which you can tell because the title block grays out, you just hit right click, deactivate view. And then I'm just going to paste that text notes box in here. Move it down a little bit. Come back over sheet notes options, and I'm going to grab this symbol. I'm gonna copy it, come over here, and then in the sheet view I'm going to double click to activate it.

So now I'm in this view and I'm gonna start placing sheet notes. So, know, I don't know, maybe maybe that needs a sheet note, and maybe we'll put a sheet note here to explain why it didn't show it connecting to anything. And to edit the number, just type two. You know, you can just type in. It's this parameter right here, note number, and that's all you've got to do.

We've got a few different symbol types. So if you want a pentagon instead, you can do that. Okay. So I'm just gonna demonstrate those two, and then you would come up to activate view. And I'm gonna come up here to note two.

So that is says connect to, what do they call, kitchen exhaust hood by others. And that one was something about the heat pump. Oops. Mount heat pump on pad per manufacturer's recommendations or whatnot. Okay.

So that works. Simple. It gets it done. Easy to keep track of. And it's impossible for it to accidentally get deleted if the architect does something funny, which is not true of keynotes. So that's my recommended way to address sheet notes on your plan.
