Okay. In this video, I'm going to be doing the air distribution modeling for the West wing of project x. Since in the last video, I did a pretty detailed slow walkthrough of how I do the air distribution of here on the East Wing. Can go a little bit faster, so that you can follow along and see a little bit more what a normal pace is. And I'm also gonna be doing a slightly different layout method just because different spaces and to show off a few more, show how to use a few more different families.
Okay. So first of all, let's check out the space. I'm gonna go into my vertical section here and see what's going on. So in the reception room, don't have ceiling. Storage room, I also don't have a ceiling. Men and women's room have ceilings, and then the utility room also no ceiling. So I'm gonna think through what I'm gonna do here. So I'm thinking I'm gonna do hard duct to a round diffuser or two here in the reception space. Might as well just do one here, know, kind of like order three, get it done. Just do that sort of thing.
Obviously, don't need any return in here, but I'll do some supply in here as well, and then I'm gonna do side walls in the utility room. Okay. So I need that round supply diffuser first. I'm gonna go over to my warehouse, and I've got the air terminal child view open, dependent view open, and I'm going to go to supplier diffusers. I'm gonna find that round frame diffuser.
Just gonna copy it and paste it in to my project. And I'm noticing here that it's at a zero offset, meaning if I go to my three d view that it's it's resting on the floor of the reception room, which is not where I want it. So I'm gonna change that to eight feet. And I'm gonna create a similar one, put another diffuser right there. And I'm gonna create another diffuser right there. Okay. Got those. These are 24 inch. That's probably bigger than I need. I think I'll leave it for now.
Oh, yeah. I'll leave that for now. Okay. I want a And then I want some 24 inch by 24 inch supplier diffusers over here in the restrooms. So I'm just going to create similar that.
And then I want a sidewall diffuser, I'm gonna create similar and put it there. Okay. And now I also want for the return air from the reception space, I want that to be a sidewall return air diffuser here up here behind somewhere in this wall. So I'm gonna go to my air terminals in the warehouse again, gonna grab my return air sidewall diffuser, copy that, paste it over into the project and get it oriented and I'll worry about final orientation later. Okay.
I think that's all I need. Oh, I'll also want turner sidewall here. Okay. Alright. I'm gonna start modeling now.
And for this, I'm gonna be using round round duct, I'm gonna use the lateral takeoff y junction. So I wanna go like this, I wanna go to 45 and I want these since this is exposed that I'm not gonna be using flex duct, I'm going to be hard ducting all the way to the to these air terminals. And so I'm coming in at a 45 and I want to, know, align this, so I'm gonna use the align tool, mouse over till I get that dot, line that up, and then just bring that in. There wasn't quite enough space to put the fitting, so sometimes Revit won't If there's not enough space to put the fittings in, Revit won't let you. So what I can do is I can probably make that smaller, eight inch.
Make that yeah. Okay. It's gonna make that. Let's do that. It's my lateral fitting there. And then for the airfills on these, these are gonna be $2.50 each. Oops. Not $5.80, $2.50 each. $2.50. And let's see what kind of size we get. Plus if that eight inch fits. Okay. Yeah. That's pretty close. Let's get this up a little bit.
Eight foot six. Alright. Alright. Now we need to swoop back around. Come like that.
And whatever the height of that is, nine two, that's what I want the height of this to be. And I want that to connect. And I'll connect this one. This one. And I don't want to connect in the middle of my wet wall, so I'm going to go like this. Probably don't have enough room. I do. Locked out. Alright. Alright.
That works. Yeah. I'm fine with that. Let's I just feel like this should be a bit wider. Okay. That and this wants to be let's say that this is a 100 CFM in here. Change that while I'm here. 100 CFM. These each can be 75. Since we're here, let's set that to 100 CFM.
Alright. Let's make this storage space. Maybe we'll make it 200 CFM. Again, I'm not going through like the loads designing of figuring out what the actual CFMs for these. I'm just kinda eyeballing rough numbers here. Okay. So that's all good. Alright. Now I'm gonna do a resizing the whole thing. And that got bigger and that's got smaller and that all looks fine. Okay. Accepted the size of the ductwork. Not really what I want. There we go. Yeah, that's what I want.
Okay. So we've got our got our supply air ductwork modeled and sized and so now we need to get our return air ductwork. Now remember with the East Wing, we modeled everything in two d at the same plane first and it all clashed, and then we fixed it afterwards. Here on the West Wing, I'm gonna try to model it without clashing. So I'm gonna avoid clashing by looking at it and thinking it through.
So I've got my supplier, I like that it's all one plane, and if and and I note and I also note here that the supplier ductworker is pretty close to the diffusers. It's pretty close to the bottom. The the the lowest it can get is about as low as it is right now. So if I go look at a section and see what I might have to work with here, It go to my horizontal section. Say I can see that I've probably got space for my return air ductwork to go above it if I need to.
So what I might do is so I'm gonna come out return air duct here and then go a bit high. And then that will probably work. Although I'm looking at this, and I can actually It looks like I can get away with the return ductwork coming in here like this, this going out of the return air ductwork. So actually the only return air ductwork that needs to be above this is from the intake louver, which somehow got deleted. So I'm just gonna copy this louver over, flip it around and make sure that it's named correctly.
This is l two. Alright. I'm move it there. And what I'm gonna do is try in there. Undo that.
This needs to be higher. Let's make this 11 feet Draw a duct. That needs to be return air. So this is so what's happened here is that it's adopted supplier system, and I don't want it to be on a supplier system, so I need to say edit system, remove from the system, select that, finish editing system. Alright.
And so now if I do draw a dot, it should it's saying supplier. Let's see. Can I change that? No. I can do create system dots. I want it to be a return air system. Alright. Then if I draw the duct, it'll be a return air system. That's what I wanted. Okay. So horizontal. Alright. That's too high. There we go like that. Like that.
I think this let's say this I I don't think this needs as much outside our CFM. There's not as many people on this side. So we're gonna go with saying that we only need 200 CFM, and then let's size this. K. So that's much smaller. And then quite easy for us to do one of these numbers. Go to product. That looks right. And then it's difficult for me to see there's a lot going on here, so it's difficult for me for me to see to go into the right bit of duct. It might be that one.
Yeah. I know. So I'm just gonna I'm just gonna come off like this, get it going in the right direction, and then use the trim tool TT to trim that in there. So I've got my intake going in, And now I just need to get that one going. So let's move that over there.
So then we'll do that CS. Slip underneath there. Head in the direction that get that elevation set. Alright. Is this correct? No. It's not. That should be 500 CFM. That size. Better.
This one could be pretty small. Alright. Let's see how we're doing. Alright. So this is so we've got that, we've got that, we've got we've got one more bit, we need to get the return air for this storage space, which is the CFMs for that we're saying is 200.
And I'm gonna do an on duct grill. And so I'm gonna have that on the grill be over here on this side of the of these main duct, and because of that I might move my well, I don't really feel like doing that. We'll that there, I think that'll be okay. So I'm gonna grab the sidewall diffuser and hit create similar, and then I'm gonna and then I'm gonna say, I'm gonna make sure that air air terminal on duct button is chosen, and then I'm gonna get it oriented here on the duct. And sometimes Revit's fussy about letting you actually stick it on the duct, so do be sure that you've got it stuck on the duct correctly.
So let's see if I can get it. I've clicked there. You see how it's still black, it hasn't turned red? And if I moved this duct, it doesn't move with the air terminal, it means I haven't got it stuck on there. Let me give myself another a little bit more room and see if I can get this. So I'm gonna place that there. I'm gonna say control c and then control v. I'm gonna move that, I'm gonna grab that, move it there. That didn't work. Right? CS. This isn't gonna work either. It can be tricky sometimes. I might have to adjust the height, is the height different? No, height is the same.
This can always just be a little annoying. Oh, here we go. Air terminal and duct, we need that. There we go. That worked. I think I think the the button unchecked itself, and I didn't notice when I got that rechecked in there, it worked. So okay. So here we go. This is our return air grill, returning from this storage space. And again, I want this to be one dash six.
Alright. And it it needs to be a 100 CFM, not 500, and we might need so now that we've got all the grills set, let's just do a final duct sizing, see if it wants to make any adjustments. It keeps wanting to adjust this, which I don't really like. So I might look into that, keep an eye on keep an eye on those return air diffusers. Okay.
So I think that's fine. This one I also want to be Okay. Alright. So I'm pretty happy with that, we don't have any clashes. That's all threaded together, and I think that looks good.
Oh, you know what, since we're here I will do the exhaust air ductwork for the ceiling exhaust fans. Let's go to the new mech work, and let's just say you know, you might gang these together, but just because we've got a kind of busy wet wall going on here, I'm gonna have each of these go up to the roofs independently and not cross the wet wall again. So I'm gonna draw a duct, just go over a bit, and I'm gonna say middle of elevation 20 feet, and then I and then I hit apply, and that puts in that vertical bit of duct. Right click, draw duct, go over click 20 feet. 20 feet is just a guess.
Okay, and I actually want that to be centered over the toilet. Then I'm go to my vertical section to make sure that those duct heights are where I want them to be. Okay. And they need to be a little bit higher, so I'm just gonna draw a line and then trim those up to there. And I'm happy with that. Okay. Yeah. Good. So I've modeled this in the working view, and in the next video we're going to do the modeling for the center bay.
