So up till now we've been modeling mostly in our working views. We've got our working three d view here showing all the hard work we've been doing modeling things. We've got our working floor plan here and we've been annotating things, but we haven't done any annotation on the actual views that show up on the sheets. That's what I want to turn my attention to in this video. So I'm gonna close our working views and come over here to my first floor plan sheet plan, which I previously set up in the sheet setup video series, which you can check out if you want to see how we did that.

But you can see here we don't have any tags, we don't have we don't have any equipment tags, air terminal tags, duct tags, any of that. I guess we have a couple of here. And we want to get this presentable, we want the information on it, so we are going to now dig into that process. So what I can do is I can just open up this sheet here, and then I can double click on this view, and that will activate that view. So now you can see I can select the duct.

I'm essentially in this view. This is the same as coming to the sheet views, mech floor plans, and then double clicking on the view. You can see this view is the same as this view. And if I expand the sheet here, this is saying mechanical floor plan o one, that's the same as mechanical floor plan o one. So either way it doesn't really matter which way you do it.

So I'm just going to, I'm actually gonna close the sheet, so I'm now in my sheet view, and I'm going to start tagging things. So I will start by tagging the equipment. So I'm gonna hit t g for tag, and then I mouse over this piece of equipment, and you can see that it's showing the HP dash one with the leader line, and it's just that's just sort of a preview of what it's going to do if I click. But for this unit, I actually don't want the leader line, so I come up here to the sub ribbon, uncheck leader, and now if I click on the unit, it gives me that tag and the tag is now selected, and I can drag it to whoever I want. So I'm going to do that for that one.

And then for this AHU, I actually am gonna a leader, so I'm gonna say leader. And now you can see this says attached end and free end, those are my two options. I usually use free end and I'm gonna show you why in a second here. With attached end, it kind of Revit makes its own decision about where to put this the endpoint of this leader line. There are advantages to that, but I like having really precise control over my entire leader line.

So I almost always set mine to free end. Let's select that, free end. And then that gives me control here exactly. And you can see I can make this tag do exactly what I want. And I'm just going to pull that here like that. Alright. Okay. So we've got that. We actually already had a tag for that one apparently. Oh and also you can see that I neglected to put in the exhaust ducting for this over to where the stove is, which I think is here.

So you can also model in a sheet view, so this is a good example of just doing some real quick light modeling in the sheet view. Don't have to go back over to the working views, perfectly fine to do this. So draw duct, I'm gonna drop down to 12 as a guess, and then I'm gonna come here like that. And then I am going to go to my working view just to check the elevation, make sure I didn't do anything insane. Go to view.

Yeah. So that needs to be down. That's all probably way bigger than it needs to be. Let's go 12 by 12. And I'm actually gonna go like this.

Alright. For now, that's what I'm gonna do with that ductwork. Alright. So I've gotten that in there. But I would like to tag my exhaust fan, and I'm gonna go a leader like that.

Alright. And then I'm gonna tag my RTU which is above. And I'm gonna tag my heat pump. And I'll tag my are already tagged, so let's see. These also I'm going to Screen just went away.

Why did my screen go away? And the leader free end like that. The same for this. Your free end. Okay.

I've got those. Now another thing before I get any further, a lot of my room tags are under or on top of duct, and you can see Revit always draws room tags on top of ducts, equipment, that sort of thing, which obviously doesn't look good. So I'm just gonna pull these over. Align them if I can, but the most important thing is that they're not conflicting with our things. I'm gonna move those.

Reception, move that. That's alright. Here. Now this one, this space is quite busy. So I'm actually gonna do with this one and also to demonstrate, I can you can add a leader line to room tags. So I'm gonna pull this over like this. And I just go like that. Yeah. Alright. And that that is fine there.

Okay. So we've got our room tags sorted out. Now I'm going to tag my air terminals. So TG again, and if I can get away with it, I don't use leaders. So here's this type. Now air terminals, you're likely to have you're likely to have your own preference for ways in which you tag your air terminals. There's lots of different ways you can do it. This tag that comes out of the box with Rev X, it's got a few different options. So the option number one is everything. It's the ID, it's the next size, and it's the airflow.

You might also just want the ID and the next size, not airflow. For example, return grills, may want that. We've also got just next size and airflow if you don't tag it with a signifier. Got ID and airflow and we've also got just the ID. So there's a few different options you have for the supply.

I'm gonna go with all of that. And now you know, it is typical sometimes to say something like typical two if there's multiple air terminals in a space. Because Revit knows exactly what these are, it's often easier just to tag all of the air terminals, but you can of course add a typical two if that's what you want. Alright. Now this one, see this tag isn't gonna fit very well, so I'm going to add a leader onto that one.

Didn't have quite selected. Free end. Right. Oh, we missed a bit of equipment here. Peter, that's our louver too.

Alright. This here. I'll I'll try not to get too fussy with this so you don't see me fussing. You can obviously go deep as you want in terms of making all the tags look super aesthetic. Let's go over here.

Now see this this is an example. This is a return grill that I'm going to choose to put ID next size. I'm not gonna put the CFM on it. Now this is a great one because this is in a crowded space, it's under a different duct. So it's a little tricky to tag. And I'm going to tag this one using a free end leader line. And let's see, might I'm gonna move that room tag up a little bit. Gonna come out like that. Kinda like that. And then, yes, it's getting a little crowded.

Might move this over here. Yeah. I like that better. Pull this over a little bit. Alright.

This one also gets tagged. Okay. And now, so if I can also use the create similar tag. So for the for these two, I also want I want these to have this tag type and not this tag type. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna select this tag, I'm gonna say CS for create similar, and then it's gonna apply that tag type.

Like that. Yeah, good. Okay. And then I hit tag and it's If I go back to TG, it's going to remember the last tag used which was that one, which isn't the one I want. So I could just change this back to tag type one.

But the faster way for me to do that would have been to select this tag, say CS, and you can see that it's using that tag type, the one that I wanted. I'll move this guy around. CS again, uncheck leader because I can just put that one right there. Okay. We got that. I don't think we missed anything. That's all those. That is all of those. And then we do these in here. And so this is a good example of where I can tag I can tag this one.

I've got 123456121314. So I'm just gonna add a text t x and say tip over 14. So I don't need to tag every single one of these on dock diffusers. So that'll cover that and cover that guy. I'm electing to keep the airflow on that one. Okay. So looks like we've got all of our air terminals tagged. That's good. Now let's do the duct. So I'm gonna go TG again, and just mouse over this.

It's giving me a preview of what it's going to place, how it's going to look. So here's the horizontal bit, here's the vertical bit and you can see that the tag is horizontal. If I just hit space bar, it will give me rotated option for that. So I'm gonna go eighteen eighteen. And then once we get here to the transitions, I'm gonna tag it again. Tag it. Tag it. Okay, good. Tag this. And now similarly to the air terminals, we have a few different types of duct tags.

So right now it's set to in fact we have quite a number. Size and system is the most common. If it's existing, you can change it to have the little existing tag. We could change it to be just airflow. That's you would pretty much just use those on a working view. There's all sorts of options here, you can explore them. So I'm going to keep it Oh and also you might want just size, you might let the colors carry the information about what type it is, return air versus supplier. But I like to keep mine with a little bit more information. So that's my preferred tagging type. Okay.

So that's good. And now I'm gonna start tagging these. Tag that straight bit and this straight bit. That. Of course, you might let specifications or notes or guides dictate the sizing of the branch ductwork.

So you might not want to size the branch ductwork and that's my preferred method as well. So I will not be tagging those. This one is a little different because it's the outside air intake, so I am going to tag this. I might have to I am gonna have to move my terminal tags around a little bit. There we go. Get that nice and straight. Okay. Alright. I believe that's all done. That's all done.

Let's do this. Uncheck leader. That's my outside air intake. See there's not there's yeah. It's too tight. I don't really like doing I don't really like putting a tag there, so I'm gonna use the leader for that. I'm gonna go let's see. Will you fit? No. Go like that.

This is essentially all well, here, let's do this again. K. K. Yeah. I think that's alright.

Now here we go. Again, leader. And I'll pull that out. Okay. There we go.

We've got our floor plan tagged. We've got the equipment, duct, and air terminals all tagged up. Let's head up to the roof. I'm gonna go to my Mac roof plans, go up to the roof. By the way, this solid fill indicates that it's a view that's on a sheet. So this view is on a sheet somewhere, these views are not. That's just a quick visual way of seeing what's going on. As here I am on the roof, so I'm just gonna give this is a simple one, give these a quick tag. There e f one. Tag those exhaust airs coming up.

Okay. Okay. We've got a bit more to do for our for annotations and things. That's good for this video showing how to basically tag your sheet plans.
