Now what I'd like to do is I'd like to add an isometric, and I wanna do an isometric for our RTU so that I can show exactly how this duct is coming down, dropping out of the ceiling, and distributing to this space. So there's a few different ways I could do it. I'm going to start from scratch by creating a totally new three d view so you can see all the steps involved in that. So I'm gonna go to view, three d view, I'm gonna choose default three d view. And you can see this is a pretty unflattering view, and also it exists here under triple question mark, and it just names it something automatic.

So the first thing we wanna do is we wanna get the the visibility settings somewhat reasonable. So I'm going to come here over here to view template, click none, and say image sheet three d, and say okay. And so now it's it's moved it where I want it, and it's applied some good visibility graphic settings. We're in the right ballpark now. I'm gonna rename this.

I'm gonna say mech isometric RTU, something like that. Okay. And so now now that I'm here, I can kind of think and plan through what I'm trying to do. So again, this unit and the ductwork is what I'm trying to show. I don't want to show the rest of this.

So the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to crop out everything I don't want to see by using a section box. So I come here and check section box, And it's not visible probably because of a filter settings. So I'm gonna come to so I'll show you here in the view template in sheet three d. If I come to VG Override Annotation and come to section boxes, the visibility is unchecked. That's because you just don't wanna see a box around your stuff on a sheet.

So that's why it's unchecked. I'm gonna leave that alone here. Because I need to see that section box in order to manipulate it to be the size I want, but I would like to leave it the way it is on the view templates. I don't forget and leave it on and then it prints. So what I can do is I can come down here to the temporary view properties button and say enable temporary view properties, and then I can go into just VG, and it's allowing it'll allow me to make any changes I want to visibility graphic settings even though there's still a view template applied.

It'll only do these settings temporarily, and then when I revert, it'll revert exactly back to the way the view template has it. I'm gonna come to annotation settings, section boxes, I'm gonna check it. Here we go, and I can crop this up like this. And well, let's see. Do that.

I'm trying to decide I haven't decided if I want the architecture to show or not. Just that you can see, you know, it's the units above the roof obviously. I might let's see how this looks. And then if how does that look? With or without the floor? Let's go with the floor. This would be more interesting if this model had the trusses and such modeled the beams, but we don't. I'm gonna leave it like that for now. I'm gonna give this just a little bit wider just in case I want it. Okay.

So I'm happy with the section box for now. So I click here temporary view properties and just say restore view properties. So now I can see that. And particularly with three d views, there can be lots of different ways you might want this to show. So the view template is really just a first pass at getting it looking decent.

If if I'm gonna go really custom now, or like I'm I'm now thinking, well, I wanna play around with some of these settings. So I might just take this off. Just set this to none, because for this particular view, I might want some settings, and I I don't wanna do it to the view template because I don't wanna necessarily change the settings of other three d isometric views. So I've got this like this. I I just wanna play with seeing the shaded no.

Rather I meant to say put the discipline to coordination, and that makes the architecture show up like that. Well, no, don't like that. So I'm gonna control z, change it back, and I do like it like that. So actually that's you know, I I think that's fine. I'm gonna leave it on the view template for now in sheet three d. Yeah, do think that looks good. And now what I wanna do is I wanna pick an orientation and I wanna lock it to an orientation that I think tells the best story. So oftentimes I use this view cube to get really really bang on. Oh, that might that might be a good way of doing it. It's a little too extreme.

I don't like that. I'm thinking yeah. Here, this might be this might be kind of the best because you can see what's going on with the supply air duct taps into the vertical, and you can also see the return air which is fairly straightforward. Yeah. I think I like that.

Okay. So now that I've got this let's not make it too overlapping like that. I don't like that this line is overlapping here, but I I really like this perspective. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go I'm go back to temporary view overrides, enable temporary overrides. Feature, I'm gonna turn my section box back on. Check it, move that one in. Yeah. We'll do that. Nope. There like that.

A lot of this just comes down to taste, to be honest. I'm kinda thinking I don't yeah. Taking the floor out. Okay. That's what I want. Alright. So restore view properties, and I'm going to now choose to lock, save orientation, and lock view. What that does is it allows me to tag things. It won't let me tag things until I've tagged until I've locked the view. But now I can tag things.

I'm gonna tag my RTU, gonna tag my ductwork. Let's see, something like that. Might not tag the air terminals, just not not very necessary. I'm gonna tag that. Let's see.

Yeah. K. That looks pretty good. I mean, you could you could tag the air terminals if you wanted. No harm in it, I suppose.

Phenylidone to that one. That'll leader. Leaders sometimes behave a little funny. Three d. Go like that. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I'm I'm okay with that. Okay. So I've done this. I've jumped the gun a little bit. I'm not I should have checked the scale first. But we've got that done. Let's get it onto a sheet and see if the scale works.

So let's go back to our m two zero one sheet, and let's drop this mic isometric RTU onto our sheet. Yeah, that's pretty small. I actually want it to be bigger. Let's try a quarter inch. Quarter inch scale. Yeah, that'll that'll do. Okay. So we've got that. We got that there. Yeah. And so our our leaders are are funky now. That's why I should have gotten I should have gotten the scale set first and then and then done these. Yeah. So these yeah. These leaders are I'm just gonna undo these and redo these.

I mean, that. Target, do you want actually, that looks fine. That's fine. I am gonna use a leader for air terminals just to make it really obvious what it is that I'm tagging. I think I like that's better here.

And here we want That looks better like that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So there we go. There we've got that tagged and at the appropriate scale now. We can use that a little bit. Okay. So that's how to do a three d view. How to do a mechanical isometric.
