Circuiting Fixtures and Changing Panel Voltage

Electrical · Lighting System · 3m

This lesson teaches you how to circuit light fixtures in Revit and change the panel voltage effectively. You'll learn to select fixtures without including annotation tags, utilize arc wiring, and adjust the circuit settings when necessary.

Specific skills covered include removing room tags from selections, editing existing circuits, changing voltage settings, and ensuring fixtures are correctly assigned to the desired electrical panel.

Transcript

The circuit a light fixture, you can actually go ahead and just select all the light fixtures that you want to be in that circuit. Make sure that you don't include any annotation tags because that will disallow the power button to pop up. So to remove this room tag from the selection here, let's do this. To remove a room tag from here, press shift and then click the room tag. So now that we only have light fixtures selected, we can actually go ahead and hit power.

So we're gonna power that up, and right away, you can see that they're able to be circuited. So if I do arc wiring, you can see that they're wired together, and the home run points to the panel that it's gonna be fed from. So let me extend this. Hold on. Let me extend this by dragging leader like so, and then I'm gonna tag this wire.

Perfect. Okay. So you can see how this is circuited to r p one and that would be this panel right here. But let's say I want it to be fed from l p one, which is a four eighty volt two seventy seven panel. So in order to change a circuit after you've circuit it, you actually have to destroy the circuit.

So you can click on a light fixture, go to electrical circuits, and then we need to edit the circuit. You then wanna remove everything and then press finish editing circuit. You can see that power system four is empty and will be deleted. You can tell also tell because it now says unnamed. So let's go ahead and click on this fixture and let's adjust the voltage.

So to edit, you wanna edit the type, then scroll down here to electrical loads or electrical engineering and then change the voltage from one twenty to two seventy seven. Hit okay. And then now we can go ahead and power this up. So again, I can either select all the fixtures, press filter, check none, and only check the lighting fixtures. From here, I can hit power. And then now if you go under panel, it'll pick either l p one or p p one because we've changed the voltage. So I want it under l p one for lighting panel one, and there we go. Now it's to the correct panel.
