Alright. So let's say we want to create some conduits to go from one panel to another. And I want to do this because, let's say, in the project, we have, you know, a big bay in between. I don't wanna put many branch circuits running across the the open space to this panel over here. So I'm gonna put a subpanel on this side of the building and just feed it with a conduit.
So the easiest way to start modeling conduit, let's go up here to systems, click on conduit, and then gonna specify how many inches in diameter, which two inch is fine. Middle elevation, I prefer well, I can I can put in 16 feet here because I want to go above this garage door opener, but this is to the middle elevation? I actually want the bottom of the conduit to be at 16 feet, so I'm gonna adjust it over here. Alright. And then, yeah, bend radius of 10 inches is good enough.
Alright. So basically, I'm just gonna go and click from here all the way to over here. And right now it says nothing will show up because I've modeled it above my view range. So I'm just gonna go over here and click on view range, gonna go sixteen, sixteen five, and there we go. Okay.
So now the conduit showed up and it's just the horizontal bit. Actually, I also want to make sure. Let's let's clear let's clear this setting real quick. Okay. So this is how it normally comes in.
The conduits will show up black and white, and you what you can do is you can assign a service type to it. So if you assign a service type to say power, the you can have a filter on your power plan to actually change it to orange. So, like, right here, I have it in the view template. If you go to filters, there's distribution power. So basically, anything that has a system labeled as power will show up as orange.
If I select this and change this to telecom and hit apply, you see that it changes it to green. So this is a useful way for you to differentiate if you happen to have different power or data conduits. Okay. So now that we have I I'm back in my working view. Now that we have the conduits horizontal section modeled, I want to go ahead and do the vertical sections.
So to do that, I want to go into a sec a section. So in this section, I'm gonna go to view, and you can see that I've placed it just above the garage door. But let's say if I didn't, all I have to do is go over here and adjust this number to say like 17, and then, you know, I've I've cleared it by a healthy margin. Alright. So now I wanna make these vertical drops.
Just click on conduit, and simply click on the end of this conduit and drag it all the way down. And I'm just gonna stop at the top of the panel and hit escape, and there you go. You could verify this is all connected. You can see how it adds its own conduits and bends. And the reason it can do that is because under the edit type, you'll see that the fittings have all been set up for you.
If it is set at none for some reason, then the bends will not automatically populate. So if that ever happens to you, just come in here, grab this, and hit pick your elbow. Alright. So now I'm gonna go over here to the other side, gonna draw the conduit, same thing. And there we go.
Perfect. So there there is how you draw a conduit. If you need to parallel this, it's very simple. After you've drawn your first run, go up here to parallel conduits, and I like concentric bend radius. And from here, I just need, two horizontal conduits and, you know, one conduit deep. Now with a three inch offset, this is perfect. I have a two inch conduit, and I want one inch in between. So this offset is measured on center. So I have three inches on center, and basically, what I do here, I come over here to the conduit, and you see how it's highlighted? Well, I can pick a side.
So let's say I wanna on the right side, but I want it to parallel the entire run. So all I do is hover over this conduit, press tab, and you can see if I if I zoom out a little bit, you can see that it select the entire conduit run. So once it does that, then you can left click, and you can see how it just drops in another set of conduits. To view this in three d, all you have to do is select the elements you wanna see, click on this selection box, and voila. There you go. I'm going to just close this a little bit. There we go. And there you go. We've modeled some conduits from one panel to another.
