Circuiting Receptacles and Adjusting Wiring

Once your circuiting has been set up and your distribution systems have been defined, you can start circuiting receptacles and other elements to these panels. To do so, all you have to do is select the receptacles that you want in circuit and then hit the power button. So once you're in this window, you can define what the voltage is. In some instances, you might want like two phase or three phase two zero eight receptacles, but in our case, we just want a single phase one twenty volt receptacle. Gonna hit okay and you can see right here with the dash line that these receptacles have now been electrically circuit circuited inside of Revit.

So from here, you can select the panel you want it to circuit it to. You can click r p one here and if you alternatively, you can hit select panel and then also select the panel that you want the circuit with. Now that you have chosen a panel, you'll see an arrow pop up indicating where the home run is pointing to and typically this will always point in the direction of the panel. If you wanna show wiring, you at this point with all the receptacles selected, you can hit arc wire and the wiring itself will pop into view. I'm actually going to change the view back to thick lines just to give you an example of what the wiring will look like on paper.

Now let's say you circuited the receptacles, but you didn't select that arc view right away, you can actually hover over a receptacle and by pressing tab, you can see it pop back up. Once you have it highlighted, you can click on the left mouse button, which then signifies that you have selected the wiring. And then from there, you can go ahead and either hit arc wiring or just click here. Both of these buttons will do the same thing. This is just a little bit closer, so you don't have to move your mouse up there if you don't want to.

Now once your wiring is in, you can actually readjust this. So over here when you select the wire, there's a couple points to it. You have the endpoints, which are these little targets if you will. If you select this and pull it away from the next adjacent receptacle, you'll see that it no longer attaches this receptacle to that one and instead will create a new home run. However, this doesn't create a separate electrical circuit.

These two receptacles are still circuited together, but now we just show two separate home runs. If I were to tag these wires, you'll see that both of them will lead to r p one, circuit one, and r p one circuit one. That's because they're still the same circuit, we just broke the wiring. So to fix this, you can go ahead and grab this wire and put it back on the receptacle. And there you go.

Now same thing happens on the other side. If you were to grab this, it also detaches and becomes a home run. So I'm gonna put this back. If you wanna adjust the arc of this angle, you'll need to select this circular button over here. So circular node allows you to drag it and say the opposite direction. And then now you can zoom in here and fine tune the wiring. So click here and click here and there you go. So now the wiring is now to your liking, and you can go ahead and resume editing this for the other side as well. Perfect. Now let's say you wanted to add an extra node in here.

You can actually do that by selecting this and then going over here to extra node. No.
